All you
need for skin glowing with health is oil and water!
Solution to problematic and aging skin have always been
seductively marketed with promises of a scientific miracles. For so many
years, we’ve been fed a beauty myth that we need to take dramatic
measures to keep our skin beautiful with expensive skin - care products
in order to keep it healthy, but it simply isn’t so.
In reality, there are only two principles to create facial and
body creams: either oil-in-water (O-in-W) or water-in-oil (W-in-O)
formulation. Most popular creams and lotions available today are O-in-W
type of formulation because of its beautiful, textured consistency.
They consist of up to 95% water, are easy to apply and feel refreshing.
Unfortunately, soon after such cream is applied, water evaporates and
the moisturizing effect is gone. Washing your face with water would
produce same effect. The other type of formulation, W-in-O, has an
excellent moisturizing effect, but it works not because it adds water to
the skin but rather because oil prevents excessive evaporation.
However, almost every facial cream today contains synthetic chemicals
and artificial ingredients that can be toxic to your liver and other
organs. These chemicals contribute to acne and are detrimental to your
skin because they strip away not only dirt and bacteria, but the oils
that your skin needs. This works against your body`s actual needs. When
the skin`s natural oils are removed, the body`s reaction is to compensate
by producing more oil, which causes more outbreaks and oily skin. Instead
of stripping skin of oil that provides hydration, it is better to use
oil - based products to balance oil production and to moisturize the skin.
Although it sounds too simple, oil treatments for skin are,
surprisingly, the most effective way to maintain and restore healthy skin.
Ordinary “fatty oils” such as almond, avocado, jojoba, olive oil, and
others have been used by cultures around the world to cleanse and
nourish the skin more effectively than scientifically-formulated
moisturizers loaded with chemicals and preservatives.
To further enhance the power of fatty oils, essential oils can be added
to treat specific skin type or condition. Essential oils are very powerful,
many times more potent than dried herbs, and therefore are used in small
amounts as a complement to the base oil. They are non-greasy oils derived
from plants and herbs and are used to treat many skin aliments such as
acne, scars, blemishes, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea,
seborrheic dermatitis, etc. They bring back life to tired, aging skin
by smoothing wrinkles, minimizing age marks, and restoring health
and skin tone.
Additionally, regular use of facial oils in combination with
acupressure massage will trigger a more profound form of healing
achieved by stimulation of acupoints and regulating the properties of
essential oils. Our simple oil preparation can be the basis for your
long-term skin care!
